Thinking of a Master Plan

Thoughts affect feelings , feelings will influence your actions. Your actions will generate results.
Crazy how a small thought can lead to suicide. A few thoughts can lead to depression. Daily thoughts can lead to a successful idea. Positive thoughts can lead to encouragement for those that need it the most.

How you think today can have a positive or negative impact on your actions tomorrow. So why not begin to start recognising all the wonderful things you've done, can do and plan on doing. Its a real injustice to undervalue yourself. If the world didn't need each and everyone of us, we wouldn't be here.

So what will it be? Be a slave to your thoughts or be the master over them?

Be you and Be true to who you are.

Be you and Be true to who you are.

University

A few posts ago I talked about making informed decisions. I feel like it's better that I go into more depth of decisions I've made in my life up until this point. Hopefully it'll help.

Many of us face or have faced the question, should I go to university?

Manicure Mondays 005: Fit for a winter tale

My nails have been growing but I've had to keep filing them for the shorter ones to eventually catchup. I find using a top coat and re-applying everyday for 4 days keeps them in tact till I do a polish change on Saturdays.

In Africa: Flying Doctors Nigeria

Studied at the University of York at the age of 15. Wrote final medical exams at the age of 21. Became at the time the youngest doctor in England. Recipient of the 2012 Thisday award. Became a member of both the American Academy of Aesthetic Surgeons and the British Medical Association. She was listed among Young Global leaders by World Economic Forum in 2013.

I'm talking about Dr. Ola Orekunrin, a 26 year old born and raised in England, currently making a great impact in the healthcare service in Nigeria. Her decision to move to Nigeria to pursue her business idea was one of bravery, quick thinking and the spirit to impact the lives of others.
The concept of 'Flying Doctors' an NPO, is to provide an air ambulance to get to those in need quickly. She knew according to statistics in Nigeria, it is four physicians to 10, 000 people. She knew the case of Nigeria was grossly inadequate, especially when compared to western countries. She was also motivated to start the charity after experiencing the loss of her sister due to a medical condition.

Manicure Mondays 004. It's all about me

This week I'm sporting a pretty electric pink. I actually prefer to wear this type of colour in summer, however I'm bored of nudes and cool pinks.

Saving Techniques

Saving is not easy for me, lol it's a challenge. I'm sure a lot of us can relate. But just like all challenges, they can be overcome. Being able to save short term or long term is a management skill and exercises discipline, especially if you like nice things but financially you are not there yet. If you have multiple incomes you should still be saving and analysing your outgoing and incoming.

Soooooo, good old Frugal Fran is here to save your bank and mine!

In Africa: New Starbucks

Hi Guys, I'm forever looking into new emerging companies in Africa, especially Nigeria because I do love going over there. This is the first post of this series and I hope it gives you a real insight into what's brewing over there. Might tempt you to relocate!

Nigeria’s  Neo Cafe hopes to conquer Africa’s major cities with coffee chains. Just think, a cool young crowd sitting on sofas chatting, reading or working on their laptops and tablets. Men and women in business attire, starting their morning rituals whilst exchanging Monday morning blues or TGIF high fives. The cute uniformed staff on hand to help take those all important orders. Sounds familiar to a lot of us in the western parts of the globe, however this is a fresh and hip concept in Africa and it's here to stay.

Independence

A lot of us yearn for sweet independence. To do what you want, when you want! It could be independence from a 9-5 work lifestyle. Independence from parents. Independence in learning. Independence in living. But how does one become independent? I've been bought up to be independent, but to always know when to ask for help and how to be strategic in planning. The following 5 tips are what I've learned along the way.

  1. Steady Incomes. Up until university, I was still receiving money from my parents. Nothing wrong with that. However I knew the importance of earning my own income. During secondary school, I taught piano to little kids and charged their parents. When I was 16 I joined the work force. Since then I've always tried to find ways of earning via incomes that take me a step closer to being financially free.

  2. Be organised. If you're living with parents, help keep the environment tidy and neat. It's the least you can do if you're not paying rent. If you are paying rent, you should be even more concerned with upkeep.

  3. Be Strategic and Plan. Want to move out to a nice apartment? Those nice apartments come with pretty prices. Move in with a friend, split the mortgage, share ownership, raise a deposit and then some, rent to buy etc. Seek professional help (lawyers & financial lenders) or help from someone who you know has done it successfully.

So its 2015, Now What

Eeek its actually a brand spanking new year. The excitement wore of at 5am for a lot of us.Which is normal. Shows that you just want to get on with life.

From here on, you really need to have a plan . If you haven't or you don't know how to plan simply meditate. Sit down somewhere, with your Mac, PC or notebook and just think about what you would like to accomplish for the year. That's the easy part. The next part is all about thinking what avenues you will take towards accomplishing these aims/goals. Do you need to seek advice, earn extra money, travel etc.

Set a daily, weekly or monthly target. Be realistic and refer to it as frequently as you need to. I store most of my plans on devices. (I lose notepads easily.) Do whatever is convenient for you.

I hope it all goes well my lovelies. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Catch you later lovers
